Our pastors

Pastor Jacob Robinson has been in ministry since 2014. Jacob graduated from Dardanelle High School in 2010. Since then, he has obtained a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech, as well as a Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Jacob currently works at Dardanelle High School.

Jacob and his wife, Taylor have been married since 2016. Together they have three children; Trey, Jack, and Jace. He loves spending time with his family, hunting, and is an avid sports fan. Jacob, a former pastor in a small church near Dardanelle, loves the River Valley and has spent his entire ministry in Central Arkansas, more specifically, the counties of Perry and Yell.

Jacob’s motivation for ministry and evangelism is founded in the belief that Christ is worthy of both His name being proclaimed, no matter the result, and healthy local churches who desire to be biblical, rather than popular.

Jacob and his family visited PBC in 2022 and our church family quickly fell in love with them! Jacob began periodically filling the pulpit of PBC and teaching Sunday School. The church recognized his giftedness, maturity, and holy life in such a way that he was called to be an Elder of this church in April of 2023.

Pastor Allen S. Nelson IV has been serving as one of the Elders of Providence Baptist Church since June 2016 (sermons). He is a 2004 graduate of Perryville High School, has a B.A. in History from Arkansas Tech University, and holds a Master of Divinity from Grace Bible Theological Seminary.

Allen, commonly referred to as ‘Cuatro’ in his hometown (just ask him about it!), has a heart for the people of Perry County and to see them come to know the God of the Bible in Christ, becoming disciples of Jesus who make more disciples of Jesus.

In his spare time, Allen enjoys spending time with his wife Stephanie, sons Bradyn, Caleb, and Haddon, daughters Ella and Piper, and building relationships with people, reading, sports (watching, coaching, playing), and outdoor activities. He writes periodically about life, Jesus, the gospel, and other various topics at ThingsAbove.Us.

Allen is also the author of From Death to Life: How Salvation Works (2018, Free Grace Press),  Before the Throne: Reflections on God’s Holiness (2019), and A Change of Heart: Understanding Regeneration and Why it Matters (2023).

Allen and his pastor friend, Eddie Ragsdale, host a podcast that you can listen to here.
