Knowing Christ and Making Him Known

It is our desire to be known for the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, risen from the dead and now seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty as King of all (Eph. 1:20-21), is worthy of a healthy and biblical church in Perryville, AR.

What Might You Expect?

Sunday morning worship is done according to the regulative principle of worship. We begin with Scripture reading and prayer, Scripture memorization, singing, teaching (1689 Confession and Baptist Catechism reading), singing, offering, sermon, and singing.

What About Your Children?

In Sunday School there is a place for everyone. A nursery is provided for ages up to 3 years old and classes for ages 4 and up. During our regular worship, we encourage parents to let their children learn to worship in our main gathering right alongside you! There is a cry room available for mothers should you need to take your infant/toddler child there for changing or helping calm down. You may feel like your children are distracting, but it’s a joyous noise to hear children in our midst while we sing and hear the preaching of God’s Word. It’s great to teach them at a young age the importance of worshiping intergenerationally. They see mommy and daddy worshiping and priority given to the Bible and we believe very strongly that these are wonderful lessons to instill in a child at a very early age. We trust the sufficiency of Scripture to affect God’s intended purposes, no matter the age.

What Will Be Expected of You?

If you are a guest at Providence Baptist Church we won’t ask you to sign anything, say anything, or give financially. Though you will be greeted by many friendly faces, there will be no guest badge to wear nor will you be asked to stand up in front of anyone nor will you be singled out in any way. We believe the church gathering is for believers. If you are not a Christian, you are invited to join us and see what a body of believers who love the King looks like.

Typically, on any given Sunday morning, several families will have lunch together in someone’s home after morning worship. This is a great opportunity to get to know our members better! If you visit on a Sunday morning, please plan to eat lunch with us!

What is our Priority in Worship?

We believe that the greatest purpose of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. We believe, therefore, that the goal in worship is the glory of God. So, it is our endeavor to stick with what the Bible says pleases God in our corporate worship: Singing, teaching, preaching, praying, Scripture reading and the ordinances (we take the Lord’s Supper once a month). These are all things you can expect during our main gathering. The gospel is our central focus in song, prayer, and preaching. Sermons are typically verse by verse through a Book of the Bible. We think that when the glory of God is maximized the quest to be ‘relevant’ fades into the background. In other words, God’s glory is relevant, and it is what is most important!

What do We Believe?

Our church’s confession is The 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith. These are our church’s 10 Biblical Distinctives.

  1. Dear Pastor Allen,

I listened to your livestream Sunday, since my church is currently closed. I really enjoyed it! It was a very ENCOURAGING message! It really ministered to me! It was a real blessing! I forgot about your Bible study tonight, but I’ll try to watch the video later.
However, I was unable to livestream your Sunday evening service. Did you still have one this Sunday night. Just wondering.
But Lord willing I’ll be able to listen to both services on Sunday. I’ll be looking forward to it! Thank you, brother! God bless you!

    Sincerely,
    Raoul Armagnac
