Church Covenant

By God’s grace, the glory of King Jesus, and the aid of the Holy Spirit this Body, united to Christ, and baptized as believers by immersion, covenants together as one local church to uphold these 5 overarching commitments:

1) Attend Faithfully – We will assemble regularly on the Lord’s Day and, as able, engage in the church’s life and gatherings (Heb. 10:24-25, Acts 2:42).

2) Maintain Unity – We will pray and work to maintain unity in the Spirit in this church, walking together in brotherly love, affectionate care and watchfulness for one another, and humbly admonish or encourage each other in Christ as needed (Eph. 4:1-3, Romans 15:14).

3) Pursue Health – We will uphold and advance this church’s worship, ordinances, doctrine, practices, and discipline under the authority of the Scriptures, the leadership of our elders, and in line with our confession of faith (1 Tim. 3:15).

4) Support Missions – We will cheerfully: give financially and sacrificially, go physically (as able), and pray regularly for the support of gospel and local church ministry here, the planting and strengthening of healthy churches in other places, and the advance of the gospel both locally and globally. We will endeavor to seek the salvation of our family and friends (2 Cor. 9:7, Matt. 28:19-20).

5) Cultivate Godliness – We will live practically in all of life under this motto: Christ is King. This includes personally seeking to apply the gospel daily in all of life and regular times of private and family worship/devotion (1 Cor. 10:31, Deut. 6:6-7).

All this we do, depending on God’s grace, for the glory of Christ, who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. Should we depart from this church, we will, as soon as possible, unite with another faithful church to live out the spirit of this covenant and God’s word.

Christ is worthy of a healthy church!
